National Professional Officer – Non-Communicable Disease (Fixed Term), grade: NO.В
(24 months – with possibility of extension)
The incumbent should support the NCD team in providing technical assistance in the development and improvement of national multi-sectoral NCD policy and strategies, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, training, epidemiological surveys and research. He/she will be responsible for Implementing, monitoring and evaluating programmes and innovative interventions for NCDs, injuries, and promoting mental health including substance abuse; also to formulate/update strategic and action plans for NCD, injury, prevention and promotion of mental health, and implementing them with quality assurance. It is required that the incumbent should implement and evaluate model health promoting jurisdictions, settings, organizations, schools, etc. The incumbent should provide technical inputs in the development, and improvement of the communication strategies for effective advocacy and awareness raising campaign against lifestyle factors encompassing NCDs.
It is essential that the candidate have a University degree in medical or health science with at least three years of working experience at national level in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes on NCDs, injury, or mental health focusing their prevention and control.

NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL OFFICER-Health Policy and Planning (NO – B)
(Temporary Appointment, 18 months – with possibility of extension)
The incumbent to this position is expected to promote universal health coverage through strengthening of the health policy and planning process. The Programme supports the Government of Bangladesh in advocating for a more integrated human resource development; facilitating the delivery of quality and integrated people-centred services; ensuring equity in national health policies, strategies and plans through formulation of legal and regulatory frameworks to implement the Health Financing Strategy and further strengthening capacities in generating information and utilizing evidence as well as in ensuring quality medical products.
It is desirable that the candidates have a Master’s degree in health policy/ planning, or health management/ administration, or public health or health systems or related subject from a recognized university with a minimum of 2 (Two) years’ work experience in health systems development, with a focus on health policy and planning and health services management.
