The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in Bangladesh seeks to hire a National Communications Consultant to enhance the visibility of the organization’s work in Bangladesh. FAO is a UN Specialized Agency, with the technical lead in the fight to eradicate hunger and rural poverty, the development of agriculture, fisheries and livestock, and the promotion of sustainable management of the environment and natural resources. One of the FAO’s corporate goals is to increase visibility of its work at country levels, in Asia and the Pacific, and globally. While the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific has dedicated staff to help achieve this goal. National Communications Officers located in country-based FAO Representations are important in increasing the visibility in national vernacular media (and beyond). The consultant will be expected to develop and implement key communication strategies, through technical support to FAO personnel and through the development of communication products aimed at a range of media (print, radio, TV, web, social, etc.).
